Reverse Converters use a Step Up transformer to increase 110-120 volt North American electricity to match the 220-240 volts needed by foreign appliances. Designed for continuous use with 220-240 volt electronic and motorized devices that require 75 watts or less. This converter is designed to fit into North America sockets and accepts the round pin European appliance plug.  If you are traveling from the United Kingdom to North America you will need an adapter for the appliance plug to fit into the converter.

Unique Reverse Step Up Transformer for your foreign guests who bring their high (220v) voltage low (0 - 75 watt) motorized or electronic appliances to the USA and would like to plug them into our 120 volt outlet This unit is about the same size and shape as the Reverse Converter with a built in Continental European Socket. This Step Up Transformer plugs directly into the wall attaching securely with a mounting screw to the wall outlet.

The 75 watt step-up transformer raises the output voltage to 220 volts and can be used with foreign battery chargers, curling irons, portable tape/CD players, camcorders, contact lens disinfection, electric shavers, and radios and other low wattage appliances.

Note: Converters are NOT designed for continuous use so if you need to run your appliance continuously (for more than 30 minutes at a time) you should use this 75 Watt Reverse Transformer NOT the 75 watt Reverse Converter.

Remember: Adapter Plugs do NOT change the voltage; they only change the configuration of the pins. You need a Converter or a Transformer to change the voltage input into your appliance. In the USA we run on a voltage system of 110-130 volts - which is lower than the 220-240 volt system used in Europe and many other countries.

About Dual Voltage Appliances

When traveling with appliances it is important to know whether your appliance is dual voltage. If it is not dual voltage you will need either a converter or a transformer when traveling.

The video shown above will show you how to check to make sure your appliance is dual voltage.

Typically cell phones, cameras, tablets and laptops are dual voltage and do not need a converter.

Usually hair dryers, curling irons, battery chargers, hair straighteners, electronic razors and electronic toothbrushes not dual voltage. These appliances will need either a converter or a transformer. It is important to check the label for each of your appliances that you will be traveling with.

The United States runs on about 120 volts electricity while many other countries run on 220 volts electricity or higher. Without a converter or transformer you can burn out your appliance. The exception to this is Japan, which runs on 100 volts electricity.  When traveling from North America to Japan you will need a STEP UP CONVERTER. When traveling from North America to Japan you will need a STEP DOWN CONVERTER.
